Asarigawa Onsen Ski Resort

Asarigawa Onsen Ski Resort is a charming mid-sized resort nestled in the hills above Otaru, with a hot spring village right at its base. The resort features 9 courses across a 480-meter vertical drop, offering a pleasant mix of beginner and intermediate terrain with some steeper pitches for advanced skiers. Its proximity to both Otaru and Sapporo via the Asari IC highway interchange makes it very accessible.

The resort receives approximately 7.5 meters of snow annually, providing reliable coverage from December through late March. The real draw here is the combination of skiing and onsen - after a day on the slopes, you can soak in the natural hot springs at one of several ryokan and hotels in the Asarigawa Onsen village below. Night skiing under the stars, followed by a steaming outdoor bath, is a quintessential Hokkaido winter experience.
