Overview

Mount Racey is a well-equipped ski resort in the former coal-mining city of Yubari, offering 18 courses across a 527-meter vertical drop. The resort is unique in being directly connected to both its hotel and JR Yubari Station, making it one of the most conveniently accessible ski areas in Hokkaido. The varied terrain includes gentle beginner slopes, exciting intermediate cruisers, and steep expert runs.

The resort benefits from Yubari's inland valley location, which produces reliable snowfall averaging 7 meters per season. Night skiing is available, and the hotel at the base offers comfortable accommodation with hot spring baths. While Yubari is best known for its premium melons in summer, winter transforms it into a surprisingly excellent ski destination that remains under the radar for most international visitors.
